"Cybersecurity is a complex subject, so eSentire’s customers and prospects look to us as trusted advisors who help them understand the threats and associated risks facing their organizations. We turned to Cromulent Marketing to augment our internal capabilities because we knew they would quickly deliver interesting, educational content accessible to non-experts—content which is perfect for generating new leads and satisfying the needs of our existing customers."

Project: Threat Intelligence Spotlight

The market for managed security services is booming, as enterprises come under attack from a range of threats and typically lack the specialized skills and technologies needed to mount a strong defense.

This exploding market is in a classic land-grab phase, with countless companies vying for attention. In such an environment, it’s important to stand out from the crowd, and one way to do so is with compelling content.

eSentire is no stranger to this approach: over the years they’ve published an assortment of valuable resources to help prospects and customers understand the threat landscape and to learn about the different defenses available.

When eSentire’s marketing team was presented with a partner marketing opportunity with a very tight timeline—in a period during which the team was already stretched to capacity—they reached out to Cromulent (eSentire’s Senior Manager of Corporate Communications, Dan Deeth, was familiar with our founder’s considerable background in both cybersecurity and data-centric thought leadership material).

Coordinating with eSentire’s threat researchers and leveraging data provided by the partner, Carbon Black, we researched and authored an 18-page report shining a light on the evolving nature of cyber threats and the implications for endpoint protection.

Following the report’s publication, a number of cybersecurity outlets covered the report and its findings (including IT World Canada and Tech Radar), extending eSentire’s reach, increasing awareness, and generating new leads.

Project: MDR Ebook

Managed detection and response (MDR) tops the shopping list for many organization; in fact, Gartner recently identified MDR as the next evolution of threat monitoring and incident response services. But there’s an enormous amount of confusion in the marketplace about what, exactly, MDR actually is, and how it differs from related security services and concepts.

To help enterprises understand the available options, eSentire produced a comprehensive ebook—The Definitive Guide to Managed Detection and Response (MDR)—which explains the origin of MDR, introduces important criteria to help distinguish between security offerings, compares and contrasts the differences of those offerings, and objectively weighs the pros and cons of different approaches.

As the ebook draft was nearing completion, the team reached out to us to provide an outside perspective on the material, to review the content in general, and to provide proofing and editing prior to final design/layout.
